There are more than 300 half-timbered houses in Ystad, which is the most extensive and well-preserved collection of half-timbered houses in Sweden. When you follow Piparegränd up towards Österportstorg, you will pass by Per Helsa’s courtyard, where an entire block of those houses can be found, the oldest thought to date back to the 17:th century.
